She teased him about no coconut and he suppressed a smile. He peeled the fruit in his hand and took a bite, knowing that in order to keep up his strength, he would need to not only sleep, but also eat properly. He had learned the difficult way that being stubborn was only going to get them into danger. It was only going to get Felicity in danger. And preventing that was all the incentive he needed. He had thought she was dead, and he never wanted that to become a reality. For he knew what it felt to die right along with her. "You'll have better luck finding a coconut in Starling," he said, somewhat teasingly. But also, wanted her to focus on that. On getting home. Because he would make sure that happened.
As they walked, Oliver carved a few more arrows. Having this weapon, being armed, made him far more confident than before. And once again, he owed that all to her. As expected, it didn't take long to get to the river and Oliver stopped once they were near it. "I'll just be over here," he told her. He wished they could be carefree, that they could just continue to enjoy each others company as intimately as they did last night. But they couldn't. He couldn't. So instead, he focused on his arrows; the very reason that kept him from being with her, yet ironically the reason they had met in the first place. He went to a tree and leaned against it, not wanting to be far from her, but making sure his back was faced to her so that she could bathe.

"Oh trust me, Starling City and I have a lot planned for when I get back!" She joked, as if the city were a person and she had a date with it. Felicity was mentally building a list, things to do, things to not do, and all the time she would be sleeping. "Spending my first few days sleeping is the top of that list."
She joked all the way to the river, to where he gave her some time alone to clean up after last night. Grateful, she took the time to quickly wash and un-stink, while he was on guard. Walking back to him, she came up behind him, and moved to lean on the same tree, with her side, so she was facing him. "Ready when you are."

"Well take all the time off you need when we get back," he encouraged, only half kidding. He was going to make sure she fully recuperated after all this. And well . . . he wasn't exactly going to let her return to her previous duties. He would make sure she had a very well paying job, something in her field, something she enjoyed . . . but not working with The Arrow. Not being near him. Thinking of this, and how difficult it would be not seeing her every day, he continued to just focus on making arrows. Until she was done. She returned and said she was ready when he was. He gave a small nod and went to the edge of the river, crouching next to it. Setting the things down for a moment, he scooped up some water, splashing it over his face and running it through his air before taking a few gulps of the cool liquid.
He also took the time to just close his eyes and gather himself. He couldn't afford to be this distracted. He needed to remain focused and alert. Not constantly have his mind consumed with thoughts of her . . . thoughts of them. He rose to his feet, picking up his supplies. He held the handful of makeshift arrows, held the bow over his shoulder, and tucked the daggers in the top of his pants, covering it with his shirt. Now, he was ready. "We'll head to the sub now," he told her. The earlier they got there, the better. "Where did you say it was?" He asked, just needing a general idea of its location. The rest, he could figure out since he was indeed fairly familiar with the island.

Had he said we'll take all the time she needed, or well take all the time she needed. The sounded almost the same and she had missed apart of the beginning. Oliver wasn't the type to relax so she was willing to put money on the later--just as she was going to put money on her plans to make him take some time off.
"It was . . . " She looked around, having been very turned around from their fall over the water cliff, and the hike here. Turning she looked around, and around before looking at Oliver. "A couple hours from the water fall. On the side we were on, you just go almost straight. I don't know how from here." Without her tablet to map things for her, she was lost.

Oliver listened carefully to her directions and took a moment to briefly orientate themselves. "That's all I need to know," he assured her. Meaning, he could get them to the water fall and then from there, to the sub. Based on her instructions. Even if they were vague, they were still enough for them to be able to find it. She had a better sense of direction than he had when he first came on the island. But being here so long, he had learned to adapt without technology.
It had felt nearly impossible at the time: to have everything and suddenly be left with nothing. He knew that he had only survived because of the people who had halped him . . . two of which were dead, and one of which was his enemy. "It's a bit of a hike," he warned her. With what they did last night . . . he would be sure to watch her carefully and see if she needed to take a few breaks along the way in case he had worked her muscles a bit too hard last night. Turning in the proper direction he stood alongside her and began to walk, not wanting to move at a pace that was too quick for her.

Good! He could find their way there! That was good, because as stated she had no idea! Felicity was still surprised she made it to the water fall from the sub! Moving to put her hand on his arm as they walked, she used it to make sure he looked at her. "I can hike it! If I need to stop I will tell you, AND at some point I want to help carry the stuff!" Her hand fell away, so she could push aside some of the bushes they were passing.
She was sore, and she knew why. She wasn't exactly used to last night's activities. Her thighs, her back, and her girl land were all hurting with each steps but not enough to cause her to not be able to go on. She would not let him down, and they had one shot at this!

She not only said that she was able to hike, but also, stated that she wanted to help carry the stuff. Oliver wasn't going to argue with her, but also wasn't going to let her carry too much of it. She was doing a great job keeping pace, but he could tell in the slight movements she made that she was sore. So would select random points during their journey to pause, rather than her feeling the need to ask. They had connected on a whole new level last night, and he cherished her in a way he had never planned to. And a way he knew he couldn't. With everything that had been said and done though, he knew it was impossible to go back to the way things were. Which was why there was only one possible alternative . . . and that would be dealt with when they got back home.
They eventually reached the waterfall, where Oliver took the time to gather some more fruits. He would have hunted but as they couldn't start a fire right now, and it would just be something extra to carry, he would have to wait until they got to the sub. So in the meantime, he could only offer her fruit and light things. At least it helped with some of the thirst. He remembered her instructions, saying it was a couple hours straight from the waterfall. He looked around, familiariizing himself with the area. He knew what direction he had come from when he had been brought from Slade's men's camp. He remembered, because eventually, he would have to go back there and get the necessary tools to get off this island. "Alright come on," he said after his brief pause. This time, he took her hand in his to help her through the heavily wooded area as there were more trees and bushes and roots protruding from the ground.

He took her hand! It took her a moment to think about anything beyond that, but she knew better then to let herself be distracted. The woods looked familiar but she doubted that she could just know were she was going all the time. Oliver seemed too, and she knew that was his time as Gillian on this island. He'd had to learn to in order to live.
Walking with him, she traveled for a few hours until the woods became thinner, and slowly they came to the opening where the sub was. The water was even higher now thanks to the hard rain, and she noticed she could only seem parts of the sub fully uncovered, the rest was just below the water. "Now we swim."

Oliver looked at the water and began to prepare for the swim. He tucked the arrows in his pants, covering most of it with his shirt as he moved it over the makeshift arrows. He then swung the bow over his arm, and also tucked the daggers away. He didn't want to leave the weapons should they need them, or should someone else happen to pass by and see them. Though, he was fairly certain that no one else was around them. That they would be safe, for now.
Although any safety was temporary on this island and would remain this way until they were back at Starling City. He stepped into the water, the depth of it being as expected. He waited for Felicity to go into the water as well, and didn't plan to stray far from her side. They both swam to the sub with practically no difficulty. Once they got there, Oliver climbed in first, before helping Felicity on to the sub as well. Once they were both on, Oliver turned to look at the content of the sub, letting her explain everything before he started exploring since she had been here before.

Tucking the extra fruit in the bag, and her glasses stored away, she swam with him to the sub before letting him help her in. Once out of sight she sighed with relief and moved deeper into it. Once she was in the control room with the radio she turned it back on.
Nothing. "They must have switched frequency, but if I can get enough power to last I can get use to use it as a phone." She explained, "Because cell phones work basi--" looking at him for a moment she knew she could just do it faster. "If you can find me something else to use for power, we can call for help." The batteries here would last the reprogramming.

Once she was safely in the sub, Oliver listened to her explain that they must have switched frequencies, and further instructed that they needed to find a power source to get a call out. His mind went to that initial excitement he'd had when he was with Slade, and got the radio working. He knew better than to get his hopes up now, but that didn't mean he was going to give up, or be negative about it. They had to at least try. He began to search around the sub for something that they could use. Moving things aside, looking in hidden spots, anywhere and everywhere that a power source could be found. It was as if luck was finally on their side, for he found a large battery, one that seemed to have been powering something else, but was left idle.
Oliver inspected it for a moment, deciding that it should be functional enough for them to at least just make a call out. He picked it up, moving quickly because of its size, and moved it to rest on the table. "This should work," he stated. But really, she was the expert. He had some experience, but his life hadn't been as devoted to building and rebuilding machines like computers and such . . . unlike hers.

Felicity jumped when he sat the battery down near her, after being so engrossed in her work that she she not even heard him come up again. "Yeah! I can do something with this." She looked over it and uses a dirty rag to wipe it off. "Good find." They could do this!
They could get home! Alive! She laughed with a bit of nervous excitement, while going back to wires and connections. "You know, when you ended up in my car, bleeding on my seat, I got you to Diggle but the defibrillator shorted. I had to wire that while you were flat lined.......this--way less pressure." She teased, and then sent him shopping. "I need something copper, and I can get you a 2 or 3 minute call. Not much more, so we better make sure we have all our information ready."

She told him that she could do something with this, and let her work on it rather than interfere. She then went on to say that when he had been shot, she had to fix the defribbilator when he flat lined. He could only imagine the amount of pressure that placed on her. On Diggle too. He hadn't been sure if he was going to survive that, but nor had he been quite ready to die again. "If you could handle that, then this should be a walk in the park," he commented, knowing that it was a true test of her skills to work under pressure. That had been her first test -- unknowingly -- and now, they did it all the time. Every time he was out on the streets, she would be faced with that pressure of leading him to the right place, and to make sure he got there on time. He appreciated her ability to function under such stress, another reason he knew she was well suited for the job.
She told him they needed something with copper, so Oliver returned to searching around the sub for something like that. They obviously had very limited resources so needed to maximise their use. "The only information we need to give is the exact coordinates of where to pick us up, and the exact time." Oliver knew both the coordinates and would pick the quickest and most realistic time for Diggle to get here, since they were in an entirely other country so it would take some time to get to. Oliver found a small copper wire attached to a clearly broken machine. He pulled it out, and held it up for Felicity to see. "Will this work?" He asked.

Felicity looked when he gave her the cooper wires, and took them, to put them over the batteries to help wire in power. It took her a few seconds before she looked back at him and an oops face. "Thank you! Yes!" Then she turned back to keep working. She had been so engrossed that she forgot to even speak to him. Which wasn't good.
Grabbing a radio, she plugged it in, and powered it all off. "Alright. Once I turn this back on we will have minutes! Diggle has to answer in that time, and we have to talk fast. With any luck we can have a short conversation before it dies." Oliver would do the talking so she passed him the radio. "If you know the details, just tell me when." Putting her hands over the switches she got ready to dial the number with the make shift keys, so he could talk. "Tell him to bring me shampoo." She teased, knowing that wasn't important. "Nothing tropical smelling."
