.:Name of Character:. Count Vertigo .:Nick Name:. Psycho? Crazy? Insane? .:Alias:. The Count .:Age:. 28
.:Physical Appearance:. Black, black and more black. The Count enjoys dressing in, well, black. He often wears a long dark coat with the collar popped up, and either a dark red vest undernearth or a black shirt with a dark vest on top. Sometimes he has a silvver chain around his neck and to complete this gothic look, he wears black pants and boots. He also wears (you guessed it) black gloves that leaves his fingers exposed. He truly dresses in his acquired nickname of The Count. His physical features or fairly normal looking. He is of average height, not overly build, and has brown hair that is usually spiked up. He always carries his drug around with him, as it is his main and most effective weapon. He also usually carries a gun, but that is just his backup. .:Height:. 5"11' .:Portrayed by:. Seth Gabel
.:Personality:. The Count can be quite accurately described as criminally insane. While he appears to have a somwhat calm and cool exterior, one can not entirely be sure what he is going to do next. He enjoys taunting and teasing others, and often acts in unpredictable ways. Whether it was from inhaling all the chemicals he worked with to perfect his drug, or whether he was always like this, is unknown, even to him. Despite his crazy ways, he is surprisingly intelligent. He speaks with refined speech and was able to elude the police for quite some time. He can also be quite theatrical at times. He is cunning, and can sometimes anticipate the actions of others, when he feels like playing the role of "evil genius".
He has an presence, imposing or not, there is something that can sometimes make a person look his way and not know what it is about him. He has little ambition apart from circulating his drug which is his greatest pride. It is safe to say that he is obsessed. Not with money, but with the attention and fame he created by producing this unique and detrimental drug. He enjoys the effects of his drug, whether it is the painful torture when administered in excess, or the high that one would recieve from taking small doses. Seeing others lose control of their senses and surroundings is enjoyable and even amusing to him. This why he can be considered a psychopath. .:Strengths:. Intelligent, cunning, his connections with others in the criminal world, extremely cautious .:Weaknesses:. No combat skills, no exceptional skill with a gun (or many weapons), mentally unstable, lack of empathy toward others, obsessed with vertigo .:Special Skills:. Being stabby (stabbing people with syringes filled with vertigo), has a high intelligence for chemicals (because one needs to have some skills as a chemist to produce their very own drug), evading the police (never getting seen or even caught, managed to remain a ghost to them)
.:Birthplace:. Unkown .:Family:. Unkown .:Occupation:. Drug Lord .:Current Location of Residence:. Starling City, Iron Heights Prison, back to Starling City .:History:. Nothing is known about The Count's past. His birthplace, family, education... everything is unknown. There is no record of him (with the exception of his criminal record) which basically left him invisible to most everyone. It wasn't until bodies starting showing up that people began to realize there was a serial killer in Starling City. The police however, discovered the patterns of the victims cause of death and they were all drug related. They began to call him The Count because the injection marks were left on the neck. This marked the birth of Count Vertigo.
Unbeknown to anyone else, Count Vertigo had started at an early age attempting to develop a drug that would hinder a person's senses and perceptions around them. His motivations are unknown to anyone, perhaps even himself. Over 50 people died so that he could perfect his drug and we would take rather unwilling test subjects. When it was complete, he named it Vertigo. And was quick to bring it in circulation through the drug world. Vertigo was quick to catch on, all the teenagers and young adults wanted it for that intense high they got. The Count was in business. He developed connections with other drug lords, and continued to manufacture the drug without getting caught by the police. He also decided to indulge them, taking on the name they so graciously gave him: The Count. In order to be the part, one must dress the part. He began to be known by those he was affiliated with as The Count.
With business taking off, the Count needed to gather minions. He had a large group of distrubutors, people of all different statuses and positions. This helped the drug spread a wider client group and as it became more widespread and well known, the Count became more hunted by the police. No one had a face on him however, and The Count used this to his full advantage. He enjoyed the faceless but infamous reputation he had gained and basked in the fame. He has a great deal of money from this drug, but he doesn't care about living a luxurious lifestyle. He puts his money all into the mass production of Vertigo and everything else is of little consequence. He cares for nothing or no one else. All he is obsessed with is making sure Vertigo is being sold. While it is a drug, he also weaponized it to cause the maximum amount of pain a person could possibly tolerate. With no known remedy, he likes to see the pain it inflicts on others, as well as the chaos it can cause when users are high off of it.
It wasn't until The Count came into the Arrow's radar that he was truly caught. The police apprehended him and sent him to Iron Heights. Not only that, but he had been injected with an overdose of Vertigo cause him to spiral into a mentally unstable state... even more so than usual. His time in Iron Heights was spent in confinement, and he was even used by one of the staff so that he could produce his own version of the drug. The Count eventually escaped by pure chance when the earthquake in the Glades happened to free him from his cell. He left, but not before freeing some other fellow crazy people, and felt bitter and angry toward Arrow for now the Count had lost his edge. The police knew what he looked like. That hardly discouraged him though. All it did was make him extra cautious as he set up a new lab and brought Vertigo back in to circulation.
"Took the words right out of my mouth." Oh how delightful this was! A little blond lady in his truck. Had The Count been any more sadistic and perverted, this would have given him an entirely new level of pleasure. But no. He was enjoying the moment of having caught her sneaky ways. The Count had no idea who she was. Nor did he care. What mattered is how she knew to come here, whether there were others who were here, and who those other people may be. He closed the door behind him, taking steps forward which caused her to take steps back, away from him. Smart kitten. "Don't you know I can press charges for trespassing on private property," he said, of course jokingly. He was a wanted man. But he enjoyed the taunt now that he had the upper hand.
He smirked, a playful smile on his lips rather than an overly menacing one. It was so cliche for criminals to look all scary and intimidating. It was the amused ones that were far more fun and unpredictable. "If you wanted to purchase some, all you had to do was ask." He continued to smile. "Nicely," he finished. He then proceeded to pull out two large syringes, filled with the drug, and began to wave them back and forth in front of her. "But because I like you so much, I'll give you a discount. All this, for your glasses." Because he wanted her vision impaired so that when he knocked her out, blindfolded her and she awoke... she would be more disoriented. Well, after he took off the blindfold that is. He held out his hand expectantly, his fingers wiggling toward him, silently motioning for her to give them. She did. And instead of tucking them away, he put them on, blinking a few times at the unexpected magnification of everything. The smile never left his face. It became slightly darker however as he walked toward her. "Now, lets have some fun."
