Getting out of the car, she watched Diggle and Oliver walk ahead for a few steps before following slowly. Felicity dreaded seeing Moria today. She feared it, and knew she had to hide her emotions. Oliver could not know--but she wasn't sure how long she could really hide this from him. In fact she knew she could not, because it was building up in her--both the need to tell him, and the need to keep him from hating her.
She stood there with him, watching his mother and the conversation from a few nights ago came back to her. How Moria had played it cool, and almost threatening. The way she walked around her. First pretending to not know her, then admitting to knowing so much more. Felicity had gone in there brave, but left feeling like a kid again.
Afraid that her Dad would leave again. Only this time it wasn't her father, it was Oliver. Would he be angry with her for this? Would he always connect this message to her, or be upset that she had not told him faster? These thoughts left her distracted, and frightened. She had not even been able to watch Oliver work out, and he had done it right before her!
Moria walked over, and Felicity watched her for a moment. "Oliver! . . . . Felicity." When she sent her a knowing look, one that almost oozed the threat of silence, she knew she had to walk away--but only took a few steps to the side, not ready to leave the scene just yet. Moria kissed Oliver's cheek but watched Felicity instead, and it made her feel sick to know she was doing the same thing. Lying. So letting herself fade into the background, she began to make her way to the sidelines.

"With pride," Oliver answered when asked if he was ready to introduce his mother. He was excited, and proud of her for taking this massive step in building Starling's future. He knew she had her doubts in the beginning, but she was fitting into the role wonderfully, and Oliver could not be proud. Finally, it seemed that his whole family was in a good place. Thea and his mother were getting along. And Walter and Moira were even working together. Everything felt comfortable, because they were united and that was why the Queen family was strong once more. He smiled, watching her walk off, wanting more than anything for her to have this chance to prove to the people that she had a good heart, because he knew she did. He genuinely believed that. As his mother went one way, he noticed Felicity suddenly walk off to the side. He had not failed to notice that something was going on with Felicity.
He had once told her that if she was ever having a bad day, that she could talk to him . . . but it seemed she was having a bad past few days and he didn't know how to help her. Because she wouldn't talk to him about it, and Oliver was determined to change that. "Felicity?" He called but she didn't respond and kept walking. "Fe-li-ci-ty," he repeated, enunciating each syllable in her name, and even reaching out to touch her arm, making her stop and face him. When she was, and even making eye contact, he continued to speak. "What is going on with you, and don't say no-" "Nothing." "Don't say nothing," he said, having anticipated her saying nothing because that was what she had said before, and he was going to make sure she didn't say it again because he knew it was something. After a few moments of silence, he continued. "The truth please," he added. He wasn't going to let her walk away until she told him what was troubling her.

She wasn't going to be able to walk away from this one, and this wasn't the place. She wanted to tell him that but Felicity could also tell that he would not be letting her. Even still, Moria's words rang in her ears. He would hate her for this, but not telling him would make him hate her more--and make her hate herself. "Might have noticed that I talk a lot." She tried to joke, and he said something back, but she was trying to think how to explain things.
Somethings, Felicity never spoke of. Somethings she knew that he might know from looking into her, but other things background checks just didn't show. Either or, she still never opened up about her past--especially her father. About his leaving. If Moria was right about her son, then it was about to happen again--but at the same time this was Oliver and Felicity dind't think he would leave her. But what if he hated her? "You might have also noticed that I don't . . . talk a lot about my family." A lot being nada, nothing, zip.
