.:Name of Character:. Thea Dearden Queen .:Nick Name:. Thea, Speedy [Ollie only] .:Age:. 18
.:Physical Appearance:.
To say that Thea Queen is beautiful would be a bit of an understatement. Sure, she might not look like a typical runway model or anything of that sort, but she often does just fine on her own. With her untamed, wavy brunette locks often framing her small, thin face, she's a sight to behold all on her own, especially when one considers her lovely green eyes as well. Add the simple layers of make-up she often tends to put on each day, and her look is often complete. Her beauty is something simple in it's own way, even with the expensive clothing she wears each day, but that is simply Thea Queen. .:Height:. 5'7"
.:Portrayed by:. Willa Holland
.:Personality:.
Though there are many people who believe Thea Queen to be the typical, stuck-up brat that most rich kids tend to be, most quickly find that they are sorely mistaken. But it would also be a lie to say that she was never the girl either. Back before Oliver returned she was that girl, often partying and getting into far more trouble than she should have at the time, though things weren't so quick to change even when her brother returned either. But the moment she got into that car accident, she slowly began to turn things around.
As the days progressed, Thea drifted from that typical party girl scene she had been stuck in for so long. A sense of responsibility finally began to fill the young woman's mind, and it was only because of that reason that she took a job at Laurel's firm at the time. This was only the first step of many on her road to becoming far more mature as well as leaving behind the girl she had once been only a few months before. For the most part she began to get a true grasp on her life, one that would only help her to better her life as time went on. Though it was mainly through Laurel's help that she began down this path at all, it was also due to her own brother's mannerisms for being far more mature than when he'd left on the boat with their father.
It was sometime after she met Roy that she seemed to fully grasp a decent level of maturity. Being with Roy gave her a sense of meaning, for her own personal desire to help him and help him find a better place in his life lead her to strive to push the boundaries of her life. But everything came to a head when the Undertaking was revealed, for she chose doing what was morally right and deciding to search for Roy as opposed to simply waiting around while chaos struck in the Glades, thus showing how loyal she could be in any relationship she was in, though that had always been obvious wherever Oliver was concerned.
Afterwards she returned to that level of maturity she had developed in the past few months, even more so when she decided to take on the responsibility of taking over Oliver's bar after he disappeared again. Nowadays she is very level-headed, though she is still known to be that simple party girl she used to be every now an then, though those moments are few and far between these days. There was once a moment where she had briefly hated her mother for what she'd done in the Glades, but after nearly being killed by vigilante wannabees, she changed her tune there as well. Now she's as close as can be both with her brother and their mother, two relationships she prides greatly, especially since her brother, and Roy, is a key component to her ability to hold her head high these days.
.:Strengths:.
Though Thea may not have anything close to a fancy bow or any skill with technology, the girl certainly has plenty of heart. There was once a time where she would act on impulse, but these days she tends to follow her heart and go with what feels right, so long as it isn't anything too reckless of course. That being said, she's certainly intelligent in her own way. You certainly have to be smart to be able to run a business, so she's certainly no fool. This intelligence also helps her handle herself fairly well in a fight, even with her rather limited strength and her minimum knowledge of self defense, but she manages just find on her own. .:Weaknesses:.
Now, although she's smart enough all on her own, Thea is still severely lacking in terms of manpower against the more dangerous people running around the city. Her nearly being killed by some of the rouge vigilantes is proof of that. She can handle herself well enough, but when pit against some of the technology an weapons that some carry around the city she doesn't stand much of a chance. Then there's the fact that she does still tend to be somewhat impulsive where loved ones are concerned, but otherwise she is often still very level-headed. .:Special Skills:. N/A

.:History:.
Thea Dearden Queen was born on January 21, 1995 as the second and final child in the Queen family. Growing up in the Queen household, the young woman was always doted on and given whatever she asked for, regardless of what it was, and this was something she enjoyed very much whenever it came to being the child of some of the richest people in Starling City, but she was in no way vain during those days. Sure, she was perhaps a bit spoiled, but that is typical of most children to a certain extent, and Thea was no different. But her days weren't always spent with her only possessions. On the contrary, she practically lived and breathed the very air that her brother lived in.
To say that she idolized her brother in those days would be a bit of an understatement. Though he was only a few years older than her, she practically copied him in every which way, always following him around and tagging along with him whenever he traveled to the Merlyn household to spend time with Tommy. She was, in a sense, a second part of him, or at least that's how she always felt whenever he was around. Oliver was closer than anyone to her at that time because of this attachment, and as the years passed he seemed to reciprocate these feelings in kind as well.
It was in this very manner that Thea spent the majority of her childhood, though as she grew older she did grow a bit more independent. She still spent the majority of her time with Oliver, but she hardly spent as much time replicating his actions as she had in the past, especially after he began to turn to the party scene in his later teen years. She, of course, didn't love him any less than she ever had, especially since he never treated her any differently as time went on, but she certainly didn't follow in his footsteps when it came to getting into as much trouble as he did. For the most part she was happy with her life, but that was before the accident occurred.
The moment word reached the Queen household that the Queen's Gambit had gone down in a freak storm, Thea almost felt devastated. She, along with her mother, still had hope that perhaps her father and brother were still alive. It was the only option she chose to believe at the time. A year passed and finally her resolve began to waver, although her mother had believed they had died out in the ocean long before that. The months following the first year left her truly devastated as the actual reality that they had most like died when the boat went down.
Afterwards Thea found herself in a bit of a downwards spiral. In an attempt to fill the void left by their absence she began to turn to activities her brother had often participated when he was still in Starling City. Much like her brother had before her, Thea soon made a name for herself as a big party girl in the city, even finding herself getting into drugs along with her friends every now and then. In her mind, she was living the high life and having a good old time, and she didn't care about it whatsoever, the reason being that she was using the excuse of drugs and alcohol as a filler for the void left by the assumed deaths of her father and her brother.
It wasn't until a few years later that the shock of her life came about - Oliver was alive. After all that time spent thinking that he had died, Thea was more than thrilled to have her brother returning home. She was, in fact, ecstatic, and a part of the void that had opened in her heart on the day of the accident was filled somewhat by his return. She immediately clung to him the moment he stepped in the door, and for the first time in a long time she felt as if her life might actually change for the better once more, even if her father had actually died all those years ago on that boat.
It didn't take long for Thea to realize how distant her brother was being as time passed on, and for the first time in her life she felt as if she hardly knew Oliver anymore. She felt torn from him, distracted, and in response to that her partying attitude began to grow worse once again. For the most part, Oliver's presence hardly did little to stop her bad habits, even if he did occasionally try to be an older brother and get her to stop. She would have appreciated the efforts if she wasn't so suspicious of him at the time, especially with the coming of the hooded vigilante in Starling City.
But all her bad habits came to a head on the eve of her eighteenth birthday. She'd already been doing drugs at her party that night, but everything changed when her friend gave her a bit of Vertigo to try out. High on the effects of the drugs, she'd stumbled about the house for a short while before deciding to take her new birthday present out for a spin on the roads. But with the drug in her system things hardly went well, and suddenly she found herself in a car wreck.
A few hours later she was met in the hospital by her mother and brother, and from their she was scolded for having gotten in a wreck at all. But that was hardly the worst of it seeing as how she was soon informed she was going to be going up in front of a judge thanks to her having Vertigo in her system at the time. But, thanks to Laurel, no jail time was given to the young woman like they'd all originally thought. But, in lieu of not having to do jail time, she was ordered to do community service. That being said, she was at first going to reject doing it at all, but some prodding from her family eventually convinced her to take up a job at Laurel's law firm.
That was the first step to her changing once again. She took her job at the firm rather seriously, and it was also during the time she was doing this community service that she met Roy Harper, the purse-snatching thief who happened to have more than a little bit of charm up his sleeve. It didn't take long for her to begin to fall for the boy, and it wasn't long until the two of them began to grow attached to one another. But it wasn't until the news of the Undertaking was released by her mother that she truly discovered how she felt for him when she rushed to the Glades to save his life.
After the earthquake occurred and everything was totaled, Thea found herself in a odd position thanks to the disappearance of her brother and her mother being arrested, but she was quick to step up and take over the position of running Verdant as a way of keeping herself responsible. She even gave Roy a job there, and soon enough things were running smoothly again, though a hole started to form once more thanks to Oliver's disappearance. A few more months passed with no sign of him, and for a moment she almost began to wonder what had really happened the night of the Undertaking when he suddenly returned.
Now she's simply glad to have her brother back, for even though there are still plenty of psychos running loose around the city she at least still has her family to depend on as well as her boyfriend too. With her mother being released from jail she certainly feels closer to her family than ever before, though her relationship with Roy, though somewhat strained every now and then due to his obsession with the vigilante, is as strong as ever and he's as much of a rock in her life as everyone else is. Now all she's worried about is simply finding her way through this mess of a world unscathed.
"Shit, shit, shit.." Stumbling around her room, Thea Queen hurriedly tugged a comb through her wavy, tangled locks as she moved about, hopping about with only one boot on her foot as she hurriedly searched for the other one. She'd told Oliver last night that she'd go out to meet him for lunch today seeing as how he had been wanting to spend some real quality time with her for the first time in a while. She obviously hadn't rejected his request, especially since she didn't have to be at the club to open up until about six thirty, so she'd thought she would have no problem in doing lunch. What she hadn't anticipated was her alarm not going off at ten thirty like she'd originally set it for.
On the contrary, the damn thing had gone off at eleven forty-five, an alarm she'd set for herself on the weekends back when her mother had wanted her to get up to come down and eat breakfast with her each morning when she was home. Thus, she was now left hopping about the room as she hurriedly finished putting on her other boot and grabbed her jacket from off her bed in one swift motion before heading for the door.
Calling for a driver as she rushed down the hallway towards the stairs, Thea had only just arrived on the first floor when she spotted one of the men her brother had hired a few weeks ago after her kidnapping standing at the door patiently. A smile curled upon her lips as she thanked the man and quickly told her where she needed to be. A quick nod and a few minutes later and she was in one of the family's cars, tapping her foot anxiously on the flooring beneath her as she waited for them to arrive at the small restaurant Oliver had told her to meet him at.
Ten minutes later she was arriving at their designated table with a waitress' help, a sheepish smile pulling at the young woman's lips as she spotted her brother sitting at the table already. "God, Ollie, I'm sorry I'm late," She said after a moment, tucking a few locks of hair behind her ear as she slid into the seat across from him. "My alarm went off late." It wasn't the first time she'd used the excuse, of course, but from the smile that was present on his face she doubted that he was mad at her at all. But that didn't mean she still didn't feel bad for leaving her brother waiting for the start of a little brother sister bonding time.
