Keep in mind some of the following restrictions. We have these in place to ensure the role play remains fair and fun for all!
Canon Characters
- Deceased Characters: You are permitted to play characters that are deceased on the show however please be aware of the timline. For example, threads with Tommy can only take place in Season 1 based plots. You are welcome to have threads in the "AU" section, centered around "What If" scenarios, and you can have characters in threads that take place before season 1 started (or prior to their death in the show).
- Missing Details: If not too much is known about your character (i.e. their history, likes, dislikes, etc) then you are welcome to make up those details. Please keep it consistent with how they were portrayed in the show. You can always modify your bio if we find out something new about your character, but in the meantime,you are welcome to add your own creativity to different fields in the application.
Made Up Characters
- Canon-Based: We are a very canon based role play so please stick as closely to the show as you can. For example: no one knows that Oliver is 'The Hood' except for those he has told in the show. This is to protect those rare canons from the show as we do not want to undermine their originality by having similar made up characters. This also includes limiting OC vigilantes so that it does not take away from those on the show (i.e. Oliver, Sarah, etc).
- Ability Limitations: When stating your character's abilities and special skills, please be sure to limit what your character can do. Be aware of the skills that canons (characters in the show) have and please do not mimic them or try to outdo them. Be mindful of what makes them rare and unique to the show and please be respectful of those canons and avoid mirroring their personalities and plots.
- Canon Mention: If you want to create a character that has a past with a canon, you must ask that member for permission and work out any necessary details with them. Please add a note in your bio stating that you have that member's permission. If a character you want to include in your bio is not being actively played on the site, then contact an admin and we will work something out.
- Comics: Since we are strongly based on the tv show, please refrain from making characters from the Green Arrow comics that have not yet entered the show. This is for two reasons: 1) should they appear in the show, we would hate to ask you to redo your character and start all your threads anew since we are a canon based role play. 2) We want to avoid spoilers for those who have not read the comics and only watch the television series.
