How had Diggle talked her into this? Felicity made one last quick round of cleaning up the nothing that was on the floor and couch before standing there looking around. Clean. Clean. Clean. Everything embarrassing out away? Like high school photos.
Oliver was going 'out of town' for a few days, in order to remove any doubt that he was not the once Hood. However The Arrow would still be in town crime fighting away. Which meant that Oliver would be staying here, during the day, and going to the club (aka Arrow work) at night.
The door opened with the key she had given Diggle so Oliver would not have to stand in the hall, and she walked toward them. "Welcome to my bed!--HOME! Welcome to my home, where you will be in my bed--sleeping. By yourself, and not with me babbling all night . . . 3 . . . 2 . . . 1 . . . Are you hungry?"

Oliver wasn't too sure about this, but it was necessary. He needed to do this every so often, avoid suspicion falling on him for being the hood. Especially now, since Oliver had disappeared for three months and when he came back, it just so happened that the vigilante returned too. Officer Lance was no idiot. So Oliver needed to cover his tracks, and no one would suspect that he would be staying here with Felicty. Diggle was too known in his family. Felicity was not as well known to his mother and Thea. He gave a small smile as he walked in with his bag, glancing around her apartment. She welcomed them, before getting into one of her little babbles . . . about her bed. He let her get it all out of her system, before answering the question.
"I'm alright, thank you," he answered, not wanting to inconvenience her in any way. "And you don't have to give me your bed. I'm fine on the couch." He had been on an island for 5 years where he'd slept on the ground, cages, caves, and every other unimaginablely uncomfortable place. A couch -- even a carpeted floor -- was a luxury. He set his bag down next to the couch where he turned to face her. "Nice home." He wasn't being sarcastic or mocking it. It was indeed a very nice home. "It looks like you," he added with a bit of a smile. It was reflective of her, somehow.

"You can't stay on my couch, Oliver, it's a sofa. Smaller then real couches. I might fit on it but your giantor." Felicity paused and realized that was not a good thing to call her boss. "Not that being big is a bad thing. Large men are good. Everyone likes large men." Good save. NO! BAD SAVE! "Not that I think about you being large! I don't! I mean I did, but not that way. Tall big, not big big there big. . . . . "
She was going to need more then three numbers! Counting down from eight, she tried again. "Thank you, it's home." He had claimed it look like her, and she felt it did. It wasn't big, but it had everything a single low income girl needed. One bedroom, one bathroom, and a small living area, and kitchen. No dining room but she basically ate out now that she worked with him at night. "I can take your bag to the bedroom."

Just when Oliver thought he was getting used to her babbles . . . one particular ramble would come out that would often leave him speechless. Like right now. He didn't even know where to begin with that one, and he noticed from the corner of his eye that Diggle was smiling, clearly amused by Felicity's little ramble. "I'll leave you two to it then," he said as he gave Oliver the spare key and showed himself out, closing the door behind him. Oliver still didn't want to take her bed, but he also didn't want to bring up a subject that would make her talk about that again. So he just let it be.
"It's alright, I can take it," he said. He wasn't about to make her carry his things around. "Just lead the way," he said as he followed her to her bedroom. Somewhere he had not expected to sleep in any time soon. "Are you sure about this Felicity? I'm even fine sleeping on the floor." This after all, had been his plan . . . Diggle's suggestion to stay at Felicity's, but still Oliver's grand plan. He hardly slept anyway, and as he had already established, anywhere was better than sleeping on the island. His standards for a comfortable place to rest his head were not very high.

"Oh, sorry, this way." She moved through the only door and stepped aside so he could come in and drop his bag off on the bed. "I know being caged inside has to be hard for you--" after the island and his nights fighting to stay alive. She thought he might not like being inside all day without even being able to look outside. "--so i borrowed some movies, some books, and Diggle left a deck of cards in case you get bored."
It was the best she could do. "Also, free wifi at motel Smoak!" She was teasing, but she knew this was a huge step down from his life--this bathroom had to be bigger then this--and she didn't want him feeling as if this was the worst few days ever. "And, I can order a pizza for this afternoon!" Every guy like pizza right?

Oliver set his bag down near the bed and looked at her as she began to list all that she had brought for his comfort. He was rather touched to hear that she had put so much thought into all this. "Thank you Felicity. You went through a great deal of trouble to accomodate me." Which, wasn't necessary but he was grateful all the same. "Anything is fine," he said, in terms of the food. Once again, compared to Island food, anything tasted amazing. His mind went to Raisa, and how she had prepared him his first home cooked meal when he returned from the island. Nothing in that moment had given him greater comfort -- even though he couldn't eat a lot of it.
"Just pretend like I'm not here. Well, apart from your bedroom being occupied at night." While he knew what he meant, somehow he felt like any response Felicity made to that statement would lead into another awkward ramble. So he quickly went on. "What are your plans for the next few days?" He questioned, wondering if she had errands to run, or any company to meet. He didn't know how Felicity spent her free time. Her nights were often with him, and ever since she became his assistant, so were most of her days. But with Oliver Queen 'away' . . . what were her plans?

"No trouble at all! Like I said, I borrowed them. Mostly from Diggle. Guy movies. Heroes and action and you know . . . the works! Things to give you something to do; though I vote you sleep." She looked at the bed once before walking out of the room, and waiting for him out here. Oliver Queen would be in her bed! Something she both never thought to say and that she though she would say under different times had she gotten lucky in life.
Pretending he was not here would be impossible. First it was Oliver Queen! One did not forget such a man. Then she had a man in her bed, which was another first for this place. "Well, normally I would be at work, then take a nap, then go to help you track down bad guys. I took a few days off work so I could be here with you in case you needed something. Nothing to do really, besides looking up anything you need me too." They could some now,. right?!

Guy movies. Oliver hadn't had the time to watch a decent movie since he'd been back. Sometmies he'd watch one with Thea, but lately, they had both been keeping busy. Busier than usual anyway. He couldn't imagine just sitting on the couch and watching something. Doing something so, mindless and relaxing. The thought itself was a rather tempting one. He took a final look around the room, before following her out into the main area. "That's good," he said, in regards to her suggestion about helping him from her home. The less he had to leave, the better. The only two places he could go between was here, and the Arrowcave. And even then, he had to be extremely careful not to run into Thea.
But right now, he wasn't sure what to do. So he just stood there, slightly awkwardly, giving a bit of a smile, unsure how to proceed. "What do you normally do during your free time?" Like, right now. What would she be doing if he wasn't standing here? He never really asked her what her hobbies were and such. He knew she enjoyed what she did, in the IT department, and with him. But . . . did she have anything particular she did during down time? Oddly enough when he asked her that question, he silently thought of what his own answer would be to it.

"You mean before I gave all my nights to you?" She closed her eyes on that suggestion but did her best not to comment on it. It seemed this was making her slips worse because Oliver in her house, and Oliver in her bed was too much for her to handle. He made the room look smaller, and the whole place look smaller really, but next to his size and strength she didn't feel small and helpless. She felt stronger, braver and almost untouchable in a brave I can do anything sort of way.
"Read, mostly. And not on my tablet. I try to stay off that so I have some non-computer interactions." With no one apparently. "Watch the news sometimes. Or the history channel." She wasn't big into fiction but like real life things that were miles from her and simpler." She tried to think of something cool but really could not think of anything. "Plan trips I will never take." Which for him the money thing didn't hold him back. "What does Oliver Queen do in his free time?" She asked, sounding less nervous and more like Felicity.

He . . . wasn't going to comment on the first thing she said. Besides, she seemed to move on from it rather well, rather than dwelling on its potential double meaning. Instead, she went on to explain what she did in spare time. It sounded, normal. Not that he thought she would do anything abnormal. It was important to have those elements of normalcy especially in their line of work. "Sounds, nice." He was being genuine in his response. It did indeed sound nice. "And relaxing," he added afterwards.
She asked him what he did, and he wasn't sure what to say. When he wasn't being a vigilante, he was being CEO, and when he wans't being a CEO he was being a brother, son or friend, and when he wasn't doing that he was training and when he wasn't training . . . that's when it got difficult. "Spend time with Thea mostly." And his mother but that was more difficult now. "Watch the news as well." But he had to in order to see what was happening in the city and what needed to be stopped. "Maybe I can branch out a little and watch a segment on the history channel with you," he suggested, only partly kidding.

Felicity smiled at his words, "I've not met Thea often but I can tell she likes it when you do that." It was easy to see most people like spending time with him when he let them. Oliver was always the center of the room, and everyone look and moved that way toward him--or maybe it was just her. It could be that way because she saw him that way. Which she needed to stop doing.
"Come, take a seat!" Moving over to the kitchen she gestured to the couch. "You pick something on TV, and I will bring us drinks! We can spend the first bit just watching." Opening her cabinet she got out some glasses, and then moved to get some drinks in them. Walking back to the couch she handed him the glass. Thanks to knowing him for so long now, she knew what drinks he liked and what ones he didn't. "I bought this one cause I know you like it."

He gave a small smile at her words about Thea. He wasn't able to spend as much time her as he liked, but he was also glad that she was keeping busy and channeling her emergy into something productive: running the night club. And while Oliver would never be approving of anyone she was with, Roy seemed to be there for her when she needed him. And that support was extremely important. Thea was extremely important. She had after all been that determining factor of what made Oliver put on the hood again. To know his sister was in danger like that, he couldn't just stand by and let them hurt her. "Its not as often as I would like. But she's grown up so much in these past few months." Without him here and with him here. He knew part of it was because she had to. But part of it was maturity. She was no longer resorting to drugs, which, made him extremely relieved.
He took a seat on the couch, reaching for the remote as he put it on to whatever the first channel was. He didn't change it right away because Felicity came with drinks. "Thank you," he said gratefully, as he took one of the glasses, and moved the pillow next to him so that she could sit down. He then handed the remote to her. "You know more than I would." Witohut a tv for five years, and then another long absence of one . . . Oliver wasn't really good at keepying up with television programs or movies. He was just glad for the opportunity to temporarily distract his mind from everything else going on.

Felicity didn't take the remote from him when he offered but she did take the seat he cleared for her. Sitting beside him on her couch almost felt surreal. Oliver Queen, playboy billionaire was on her couch, drinking from her cups and watching her TV. Never would she had thought to see this coming! "You can watch whatever you want." He was the guest--plus she wanted to see what Oliver Queen watched on TV.
Moving to sit back, she reached for a magazine and opened it, thinking about what he had said about Thea too. Thea had grown up these last months, and it showed. Ever since Oliver came back she had been in the papers less and looking healthier more. Oliver. Roy. It seemed Thea was growing into a adult. "How do you like Roy?" It was asked casual, but with Oliver she knew it wouldn't be a casual question. ANYONE with his baby sister would be fighting an uphill battle with Oliver. "He seems to really like her."

Oliver absent mindedly flipped through the channels, not really paying attention. Even less so when she asked him how he liked Roy. In truth, Oliver believed that no one would ever be good enough for Thea. She was his little sister, and a huge part of his heart belonged to her; protecting her, taking care of her. They had been close growing up and he would never see anyone being all that she deserved. But . . . he had to admit, there was something about Roy. Oliver was less than thrilled that the man was a criminal; and that they had met because he'd stolen her purse. But Oliver couldn't deny that he cared about her. That there was something genuine about him. Still. That didn't mean he wasn't planning on having the big brother talk with him at some point. Deciding to stay on a documentary that was on, he thought of a suitable response to her question.
"He makes Thea happy." Oliver could easily see that. Thea was happier with him, and she had matured a great deal. Roy was there for her in ways that no one else could be. In a way that he couldn't even be for he had left when Tommy died. Their mother had been -- and still was -- in prison all this time. Yet Roy had stayed with Thea and given her that support. "That's all I want for her. Is for her to be with someone who can make her happy." Who can take care of her; be there for her where others weren't . . . like him. "And I see that in Roy." Because he saw them together and she was genuinely happy. He was trying to sound casual, but so many emotions filled him when thinking about his younger sister. She was everything to him, and he never wanted to see her get hurt. Which was why -- regardless of what his gut was telling him, regardless of how genuine Roy seemed -- if he did ever hurt Thea, Oliver would not go easy on him . . . to say the least.

She wasn't reading her magazine, or even really pretending to. It just sat there opened. Turning, she moved to sit sideways on the couch and rest her head on the back while watching him talk. She liked the way he talking about his sister. Protective, and loving. She wished someone talked about her that way behind her back, and that thought made her feel lonely.
"You can see how much Thea looks up to you, Oliver, and I think that is where she gets her standards on guys." Meaning they had to measure up to Oliver, or come close, before she would date them. "I like Roy. He's a good kid when he lets himself be." She'd said as much before, so instead she tried to lighten the mood. "At least he does not know who you are. Can you imagine THAT pressure. Most guys fear meeting the parents, but Roy would have to meet your alter ego! You want to talk about scaring off her dates then!" She was teasing him. "They'd run faster then the bad guys."

Felicity said that Thea looked up to Oliver, and Oliver wished his sister didn't. Because he was not a good person. He hadn't been before the Island, and he wasn't now. He knew how much the way he acted when he returned had hurt Thea, and it had taken months for them to reconnect. He wished he could be the brother that she deserved. One who had been there for her all the time, and not just some of the time. But he wasn't going to express this, especially as Felicity went on to tease him about Roy not knowing who Oliver really was. For that would indeed put a lot more fear into the boy.
"I still plan to make him a little nervous," Oliver said, encouraging the teasing mood but . . . he wasn't speaking without truth. Roy seemed like a good guy, but Oliver wasn't just going to stand back and have no involvement should he do something to hurt Thea. Hence, the reason he was still planning on having that big brother talk. The last time he had seen Thea with a guy -- catching her with him in her bedroom -- Oliver had come close to doing more than just telling him to 'hit the road'. With Roy, it would be different. Because he knew Thea really liked him, if not loved him at this point. "What kind of brother would I be if I let him get too comfortable," he continued to joke, but again, with some truth. "Still, considering what my father was like with her male friends, I'm a softie." Oliver at least let them through the door.

Poor Roy. He was in for a hell of a time with Oliver as the older brother. While most boys jumped through hoops, Roy was going to jump through fire hoops and into pools of sharks if Oliver had his way. Still, hearing him talk openly about his family made her happy, so she drew her legs up to wrap her arms around them and just enjoyed watching him while he was relaxing. It was off to see him, but good! Oliver was a force of nature, and seeing him still was different.
Then he spoke of his Dad, and Felicity had to make herself not reacted with surprise. Oliver never spoke about his dead other then 'the mission' he left him. Ever. She had never heard him speak of happy things. Her voice was light and encouraging; just as her words were picked with care. "And what sort of hell did your Dad give them, if you look like a softie?" She make sure to only encourage this story, at least for now. No need to let it trail into unhappy times.

Oliver knew he had introduced the subject of his father into this conversation, so her question was fair. He seldom spoke of his father, unless it had to do with the list. And even now, that conversation hardly ever took place after everything that had happened. And mostly because his missions were no longer focused on the list of names, but something more general. So when she asked the question, he didn't let it show how much talking about his father affected him. "Well for one, I actually let them through the door," Oliver said, only half kidding. He was fairly certain that Thea had to do a lot of sneaking around to meet with any boyfriends to male friends she had. Because between their father and even himself, those boys never had a chance.
As Oliver already established though, Roy was different. And that was the only reason he had not intervened as much as he would have. Not like that other guy who Thea had brought to the Christmas party. Oliver was glad he never had to see him again. "Thea deserves only the best." Just as she deserved to be happy. But Oliver wasn't sure he even knew what the best was for Thea any more. Whether it was because he was not as arrogant as he had been before the island -- his arrogance took form differently now -- or because he had mentally matured since then. "And if that is what Roy is to her, then I can only be there to support her." While instilling fear in Roy at the same time. It seemed to be functioning alright so far too. Thea would always be his baby sister, but he also knew she wasn't fifteen years old anymore. She had matured, and she was able to make her own decisions . . . for the most part.

She reached her hand out to rest on his shoulder when he sort of side stepped the question of his father, and left it there for a short moment. Just so he would know she understood. And was here if he wanted to talk. Always.
But he was back to Roy. "He got a job, and seems protective of her. Has kept the job......and from how Thea tells it, he saved a lot of people on a bus that night." Roy made her see a young untrained Oliver, with less money and more anger. He wanted to help, and struggled with self worth. Still, Oliver had over come these things on his own. Roy would at least have a guide.

Oliver knew that Roy had good intentions. Though he was untrained, undisciplined. Which was why Oliver had given him another option. One where he could help, but without putting himself at risk. Plus, he didn't like seeing Thea worry like that. He wanted Roy and Thea to have a normal life together, not allow Roy to take on the crime in the city when he kept getting beat up and arrested. "He has good intentions," Oliver said, speaking aloud his former thoughts. Oliver had told Roy that he reminded him a lot of himself . . . and that was what made Oliver somewhat accept him. He had turned his life around, let Thea help him no longer be a petty criminal, but someone with more structure. "And he genuinely wants to help," Oliver added.
He paused for a moment, not wanting to keep secrets from Felicity and Diggle. He had not gotten the chance to tell Diggle yet, but the opportunity seemed to now present itself to tell Felicity. "So I made him an informant for The Arrow," he revealed. It would keep him out of trouble, and still help in his own way. A safe way. One that would not endanger his life, or make Thea always worry about him. She had enough people to worry about . . . with all that was happening with their mother, and even himself. He wanted her to have one good thing in her life, one person she could just be happy with.

Felicity grew distracted from everything else he said. He had trusted Roy enough to let him help in some way. That could either be really smart, or get Roy in over his head. "Really?" She asked, not doubting him, but not quite sure what he hoped to gain from trusting Roy.
"I have hacked into the cameras for the club, I can help keep and eye on him, but once he leaves it gets harder. Not a lot of cameras int he Glades." Not since the quake. "What is he informing on?" She wanted to know details because as always, the more she knew the more she could help watch his back and keep everything in order.

Felicity offered to keep an eye on him in the club, but Oliver knew it wasn't entirely necessary. While he hated putting Roy in a position where he would be lying to Thea, he couldn't have Roy running around and taking matters into his own hands . . . because it was endangering Thea as well. Not to mention, causing her emotional distress and Oliver hated seeing his baby sister upset. "That's fine," Oliver told her, not too worried about keeping an eye on him, when he was the one asking Roy to keep an eye out for something. "Roy wants to help, with or without me," Oliver began to explain. He also knew that Roy was grateful to The Arrow for 'saving' him when he'd been kidnapped.
But Roy was no where near capable of doing this. He could take a beating but he could not fight crime. "This will keep him directly out of harm's way, while still allowing him to help." Roy knew the Glades. He grew up there, it was his home. And more importantly, he would be loyal to The Arrow. "He is going to be my eyes and ears in the Glades." Inform him of what is happening on that side of town so that Oliver could put a stop to it. Roy shouldn't have to endanger his life. He should be with Thea. The two of them deserved to be happy and Oliver didn't want to be repsonsible for any more of his sister's tears . . . especially when he had the ability to prevent them. He wasn't doing this just for Roy's sake, he was doing it for Thea too.
